Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's):
-
Is therapy right for me?This life of ours is challenging; we all have internal, external, and existential struggles that we all deal with on a daily basis. Most people have periods in their life when things are more challenging than others and could benefit from the compassion, validation, and empathy that therapy can provide.
-
Does being in therapy mean something is wrong with me?Being "normal" does not reflect how different and diverse we are as humans, we all have thoughts, behaviors, or emotions that determine how we interact with the world. Everyone has thought patterns or emotions that interfere with other parts of their lives and has areas in need of growth. A therapist is someone who can help you make sense of your 'inner world'.

What can I expect?First, you and I will schedule a FREE 15-30 minute phone call so that I can get a better picture what you are looking for, I can thoroughly explain the practice policies, and we can determine if it is a good fit. Second, if we decide to move forward, we will schedule a 90-minute intake session so that I can get a history of the issues bringing you into therapy as well as get a general social history. Finally, we will set up regular sessions which generally last 50 minutes, at which time we will work on those goals for treatment. How much do your services cost? For those who prefer to pay out of pocket with debit/credit cards, I gladly accept those forms of payment. My current rates as of 4/1/23 for individual therapy are: Initial intake/assessments: $185 per 90 minute session. Standard session: $160 per 50 minute session. For family/couples therapy, the rates are: Initial intake/assessments: $190 per 90 minute session. Standard session: $170 per 50 minute session. I understand that everyone's financial situation is unique, and I want to be sensitive to that. I have a limited number of sliding scale cash pay rates based on economic and cultural need. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me to discuss options if you have concerns about affordability. Your well-being is important to me, and I am committed to finding a solution that works for you.
