Anxiety
“Don’t assume I’m weak because I have panic attacks. You’ll never know the amount of strength it takes to face the world every day.”

Fight or Flight!
Or Fawn or Freeze
Sweaty palms, racing heart, thoughts and worries running a mile a minute through your head, waking up in a cold sweat, even sometimes feeling so nervous or on edge that one gets a feeling of impending doom; Anxiety can present in different ways to different people.

Anxiety is our body's response to perceived danger, such as seeing a bear in the woods; stress hormones cause our body to prepare to Fight, Flight (run), Freeze, or Fawn (appease). Sometimes our body's response gets stuck on the "On" position and our brain thinks we are physically in danger if we miss a social cue or deadline.

Using a combination of skills training, mindfulness, parts exploration, and building up our defenses, I can help you notice when you are anxious, develop and use your own ways of coping, and find the parts of yourself that are able to talk to the anxiety and ask it to step aside so that YOU can have more peace of mind.
